Eight Sleep has announced a new version of its "smart sleep system," designed to adjust the bed's temperature in response to tracked health and sleep data such as respiration and heart rate. According to the company's announcement, the new Pod 6 system is being described as the company's "most significant hardware launch to date," and it is built around a redesigned cooling unit that has been shrunk enough to hide under most beds. According to the company, the new system is lower-priced compared to the Pod 5 released in 2025, though it still isn't cheap.
Pricing and availability
The Pod 6 is now on sale in Eight Sleep's online store. According to the company's announcement, the Standard version is priced from $2,699 for a full bed size, going up to $2,999 for king and California king sizes. For the first time, Eight Sleep will also offer a smaller Solo option for $1,999, with a cover that fits half of each bed size for single users.
According to the company, the Pod 6 system remains compatible with optional accessories such as the $999 cooling pillow cover. There is also a required subscription ranging from $199 to $399 per year for two sleepers.
Hardware and tracking features
According to Eight Sleep's announcement, the Pod 6's control unit was "built from the ground up with electrical, mechanical, and software systems re-engineered together," making it half the size of previous versions while delivering higher performance. The unit, which contributes to better sleep by circulating temperature-controlled water from the bed cover, also makes temperature adjustments 20 percent faster.
According to the company, the Pod 6's health and sleep tracking capabilities have also been strengthened with additional sensors. While last year's Pod 5 had two biometric sensors integrated into the bed cover, that number has been increased to 18 in the Pod 6. The system can track health measurements such as heart rate, heart rate variability, respiratory rate, and sleep stages, and can also detect snoring even if two people are sleeping side by side or on opposite sides of the bed.
According to Eight Sleep, the system is also smart enough to distinguish between adults, children, and pets. All the collected data is used by Eight Sleep's AI-powered Autopilot feature, which is covered by the subscription, to make automatic temperature adjustments throughout the night to maintain comfort without any manual intervention.
